Grant Arrival

I wanted to update this blog to let you know that Tim and I have arrived safely at the Grant. On Wednesday, July 8, I got up at 5:30 in the morning to pick my trusty Texas companion up at PHL by 7:30. We then drove seven or so hours to get to Hanover. On our way through Vermont, we stopped at the most Southern style BBQ place that I have ever seen north of the Mason-Dixon Line.

Aka the 9th Wonder of the World

The barbecue was good, albeit a little pricy for the amount of meat we got. We got to Hanover by 6pm, where I was happy to find my bike where I left it for the last month. We parked the trusty Taurus at Tabard, which graciously hosted us for the two days that we were in Town.

In Hanover, we saw a bunch of thru-hikers, shored up our financial situation, and learned how to categorize LWD by one of the greats (aka Professor Magilligan). On Friday, we left for the Grant around two and got to the infamous Berlin (Berlin New Hampshire that is) Walmart. There, we stocked up on all types of veggies, meats and other perishables.

So, here we are. We are now at the Grant, working on our grant. I'll keep the blog updated over the next couple of weeks with some new photos.
